Google Analytics

What is the Google Analytics tracking code?

Google Analytics is a free website analytics service offered by Google that gives you insights into how users find and use your website. It tracks how many people have visited your website, where they come from, how they found you and what pages they visited on your website.

To get it working, all you have to do is add a small amount of 'tracking code' on your website, as we've shown above.

Top Tip πŸ’‘: To learn more about Google Analytics CLICK HERE.

How do I get my Google Analytics tracking code?

  1. Click Admin.

  2. Select an account from the menu in the ACCOUNT column.

  3. Select a property from the menu in the PROPERTY column.

  4. Under PROPERTY, click Tracking Info > Tracking Code. Your tracking ID and property number are displayed at the top of the page.

Top Tip πŸ’‘: The tracking ID is a string like UA-000000-2. It must be included in your tracking code to tell Analytics which account and property to send data to.

The Facebook Pixel

When someone visits your website and takes an action (for example, buying something), the Facebook pixel is triggered and reports this action. This way, you'll know when a customer took an action after seeing your Facebook ad. You'll also be able to reach this customer again by using a Custom Audience.

When more and more conversions happen on your website, Facebook gets better at delivering your ads to people who are more likely to take certain actions. This is called conversion optimisation.
